| 1 year Anniversary
Thats right, it is now 1 year since I started writing these Top Tips each week for you guys (well almost every week). Thanks to all of your who have sent kind comments in response to the information that I have provided. If you want to browse the previous tips most of them are available via my website. I am very keen for more people to have access to these tips, so if you can think about friends and relatives who might appreciate information on Health and Fitness issues, interesting links and events that are going on, plus the details of my latest offers, free articles and news relating to my services. There is a link at the bottom of each email to refer a friend, or get them to sign up via my website. Carrots Something a bit different today, I was talking to one of my clients today about Calcium and what sources other than milk can you get calcium. I said carrots, which was met with that "you don't know what you are talking about!" look. So to prove my point to her here is the low down on carrots: - Carrots have the highest content of vitamin A of all vegetables.
- There is as much calcium in 9 carrots as there is in a glass (250ml) of whole milk.
- For the same amount of calcium in around 9 carrots you would need to eat over a kilo of garlic.
- Howard Hughes always measured every carrot he ate.
- Three Carrots give you enough energy to walk three miles.
- Carrots are good for dandruff. (not an issue for me :o)
- Carrots are one of the rare vegetables which are more nutritious cooked than raw
The internet a wonderful thing! if you want to find out more about carrots here is the link which I got my information from... not exactly "peer reviewed" but it was that or Wikipedia! |
